A Shower Here, A Shower There

A shower here and a shower there.

That’s how the majority of this week will play out with an upper level trough/upper level low hanging out and spinning around New England.

Check: Current Conditions | Weather Map Center | Interactive Radar

Sunny breaks along with cloudy intervals will give way to a few showers that will develop this afternoon.  Highs will be near 60.

West winds will be gusting up to 35+ mph. With the continuously dry conditions, the viewing area is under a Red Flag Warning from late-morning through this evening.

Tuesday and Wednesday will basically be a carbon copy of today.

The only exclusion will be the gusty winds which will be calmer starting tonight. Highs on Tuesday will return to near 60F, while Wednesday will be just a couple of degrees cooler in the middle to upper 50s.

Thursday will be the final day of this stubborn pattern.

The high temperatures will top off in the middle 50s.

The Red Sox home opener is looking dry!  Partly cloudy skies are in the forecast with highs reaching the upper 50s.

We hope that you had a wonderful Holiday weekend!

We are one week away from the Boston Marathon.  It’s looking like a decent week for your last week of training before the big day! :)

The only important thing is that we NEED rain On marathon day or any day. If not, it may be a tough summer. .

  • matt souza

we are now paying the price of the record low snowfall and lack of spring rains. i hope you snow haters remember this when water bans are put out . Billerica usually has one after memorial day or later but i am thinking will start before hand .Hope you are happy snow haters. Brush fires are already happening and will only become worse

    • snow haters rule

i have a ban thats every year in Barre !!! Whether it rains , snows or not!!!! it’s a perm order here–so like it matters!!! as for brush fires–stop throwing cigaretts out your windows–ya dopes!!!!! amd it’s only 5 inches down–good grief!!!!
So matt it’s the snow haters fault? get a grip

    • scott

I agree. even if we didn’t get alot of snow, there would be a ban. AND, if we get a HOT summer, we get a ban. There hasn’t been alot of summers that some -how we don’t get a ban!

  • RobHatesSnow

Good! Rip out of the thread! I don’t care…I am just sick and tired of people bashing us because we don’t like snow….rip this one out too while you’re at it!

  • I hate snow too

    Matt’s just a kid, giv’em a break.

    • casper

even being a kid he made more sense than the reply he got.

      • snow haters rule

more sence huh–wow–yea it’s the peeps that hate snow is why the ” dry conditions ” are occuring!!!!! water bans in many cities are year round whether it rains or snows so get your facts straight!!! and brush fires almost always occur from peeps burning campfires ( not putting them fully out ) or throwing cigs out car windows along the road–fact!!!!! so during dry times use common sence !!!! and stop blaming peeps that hate snow for all your personal problems—lmao

      • casper

I’m not sure if you are reading challenged or just like to translate what a person says to suit your purpose. The comment was a reminder for those who hate snow that it serves a purpose. An accurate and adult comment since another said the writer was a kid. I never saw any mention that a snow hater caused anything. But good luck with your rants.

“snow haters rule” is right, many towns do start water bans next month or so regardless of whether we’ve had above or below normal precip. levels….I don’t believe those that despise snow are rejoicing that we are under Red Flag Warnings! That’s just ridiculous….Matt – you really need to calm down, you seem to be wanting to instigate arguments here. There are still many opportunities for needed rainfall to reduce the deficit around here. This is New England and much of this region is basically a forest, it’s been like this for thousands of years, we’ll survive several inches below “normal” (whatever that REALLY is around here, with our extremes or everything)….

    • Rob Rose

Amen to that! I hate snow because it often causes accidents and disasters…but so do fires! So I am NOT a fan of ANY environmental catastrophe! Also, Matt…we have no control over the weather…we did not ASK for drought conditions! And Casper, sorry you didn’t get the snow you so *wished* for, but that’s life dude…wipe your nose and move on with life! There is another blog for get-a-lifers like WeatherWizard, Hadi, et al, go join that one

the dry weather is in keeping with the long term warming. It will get warm again. Any talk of a year without a summer is mere foolishness.

  • drmilton

To say that the lack of snow this winter doesnt contribute to what we have now is foolish.

    • Rob Rose

      Nice statement Captain Obvious!

  • Ready for spring

I think what has raised the ire is the stateent “I hope your happy snow haters”. Thats not really called for, but like i said, he’s just a kid so cut him some slack.

Dr, i dont think anybody thinks the lack of snow hasnt been a factor.
