Route 9 Temporarily Closed In Chestnut Hill Due To Gas Leak
CHESTNUT HILL (CBS) - Part of Route 9 near the Atrium Mall was closed just before noon Wednesday due to a natural gas leak.

The road was closed eastbound before Hammond Pond Parkway, and traffic was diverted onto Florence Street. At least one lane was reopened after 2 p.m.
The westbound lanes were open and moving all throughout the day.
An unknown contractor struck a gas line at around 11:35 a.m., causing the leak.
National Grid crews then arrived to the scene to repair the gas line, while firefighters dumped water over the leak to prevent any fire.
