Man Dies In Ashburnham Dirt Bike Crash

ASHBURNHAM (AP) — The Worcester County district attorney's office says a man found dead in a pond in Ashburnham suffered the fatal injuries in a dirt bike crash.

Authorities identified the man killed in Saturday's accident as 22-year-old Zacharie Brodeur of Ashburnham. They say he apparently lost control of his dirt bike on Sherbert Road, hit a guard rail and was thrown into the pond.

Ashburnham and state police say they don't suspect foul play, but they're trying to determine exactly what happened.

Police closed Sherbert Road for nearly five hours on Saturday while authorities recovered Brodeur's body and investigated.
