Boston's Best Skateboard Shops

Tear up the streets and shred the ramps anywhere in Boston after a quick trip to these awesome local skate shops. Boarding is about more than the right deck. These shops will provide you with everything from gear to videos to the latest exhibitions and tournaments.

Orchard Skateshop

Orchard Skateshop, originally located in Mission Hill, relocated to Allston Village after five years. It boasts low prices on apparel, skateboards and accessories. Stop in to see the Extension Art Gallery, or take a free ride on the mini-ramp. Orchard is moving into its sixth year providing one of the area's widest selection of great gear.

Boardwalk Skate Shop (and Indoor Skate Park)

BMX bikes only allowed on Wednesdays; three-hour limit on crowded days
Price: $9 before 6 p.m./$6 after 6 p.m.

Stock up on skating gear at the Boardwalk Skate Shop, then practice at its indoor skate park. Private and group lessons are available, as well as skateboarding clinics. (Sign up early as space is limited.) It also hosts birthday parties and private events, with instructors available upon request. Helmets and waivers are required to skate here.

High Grade Skateboard Shop offers skateboards, skateboarding shoes, apparel, and skateboard hardware. The have over 200 decks in stock, so there is a board design for every style. The Blvd Shop is an art and music inspired skateboarding shop run by owners Justin and Chris Villano. They offer skateboarding apparel, shoes, and skateboards by RAW, Poopdeck, Rebel 8 and more.
