CHESTNUT HILL (CBS) – Demolition work got underway at the Macy’s building along Route 9 in Chestnut Hill on Wednesday.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Karen Twomey reports.
The store closed in 2011.
Work crews began tearing down the empty building to make way for a new complex of stores.
“After the demolition, which will be completed in a few weeks, we’ll have a brand new facility, a 115,000-square-foot building. It will be home to Sports Club LA. It’ll be home to a brand new, state-of-the-art cinema by National Amusements, and then retail and restaurants along the first level,” said
David Fleming, the WS Development Marketing Director.
Fleming said the new stores should be open by this winter.
