Police: Female Jogger Sexually Assaulted In Wakefield

WAKEFIELD (CBS) - A 21-year-old woman reported to police she was sexually assaulted while jogging near Lake Quannapowitt last Tuesday at 8pm.

The woman told police she was attacked near Colonel Connolly Park by a white man, who pushed her to the ground.

Lt. Scott Reboulet says the victim, "Cut through an unlit path and an unknown man pulled her down from behind and tried to pull her sweat pants down."

The woman said she kicked and screamed until an unknown witness said he would call police. She suffered bruises during the struggle.

The suspect allegedly fled on foot towards Quannapowitt Parkway.

He is described as a white man in his 30's with dark eyes, a buzz-cut haircut and some facial hair. He stands around 6'0" tall and weighs around 170 pounds.

Police completed a sketch of the suspect on Monday.
