Former Fitchburg Priest Indicted On Child Porn Charges

FITCHBURG (AP) — A Roman Catholic priest who once served at a Fitchburg church has been indicted on child pornography and theft charges.

A Worcester County grand jury handed up indictments Friday charging the Rev. Lowe Dongor with possession of child pornography and larceny of more than $250.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Dongor, but his whereabouts are unclear and Massachusetts authorities think he has fled to his native Philippines.

Authorities say images of preteen girls were found on Dongor's computer during service. He also allegedly stole $40 to $60 from St. Joseph parish several occasions apparently to send to relatives in the Philippines.

Bishop Robert McManus of the Diocese of Worcester suspended Dongor from ministry when the accusations surfaced last year and has requested the Vatican defrock Dongor.
