TEWKSBURY (CBS) – The search is on for the driver involved in a hit-and-run accident in Tewksbury late Tuesday night.

A woman in her 20′s was seriously injured.

She was struck by a vehicle as she walked along Whipple Road.

The driver took off from the scene and headed north toward Lowell, but police weren’t able to get a good description of the vehicle.

The victim was taken to Saints Medical Center in Lowell. She is expected to survive, police said.
