GLOUCESTER (CBS) – The highway turned into a delivery room on Route 128 in Gloucester Tuesday, not once, but twice.

A mom delivered twins while paramedics were rushing her to the hospital.

The baby boy and baby girl arrived within minutes of each other.

“All of a sudden she said ‘uh oh’ and I looked up and the baby started to come out,” Paramedic Linda Hayes said. “My partner Jeff was driving. So I said Jeff, pull over!”

Mom and both babies eventually made it to Beverly Hospital where they are all said to be doing well.

Sad. Gloucester won’t be delivering babies anymore…everyone goes to Beverly or Boston.(time permitting of course).
    No more Island babies !
