Case Against State Trooper Accused Of Attacking Wife Dismissed

BOSTON (CBS) -The case against a Massachusetts State Trooper accused of attacking his wife was dismissed on Monday.

Trooper Donald Pillsbury was arrested Feb. 23 after he allegedly assaulted his wife at their home.

According to investigators, Trooper Pillsbury and his wife had been at a wake, had been drinking and got into a fight. Pillsbury allegedly grabbed her and threw her into a wall. While she was lying on the bathroom floor, Pillsbury kicked her several times, the police report said.

Pillsbury joined the State Police in May 1994. He remains suspended without pay.

"The internal investigation by the department into his actions remains ongoing," State police spokesperson Dave Procopio said Tuesday.

Pillsbury was the fourth Massachusetts State Trooper arrested in the last several months.
