Reports: DE Castillo Visits With Patriots

BOSTON (CBS) - As part of their busy weekend in NFL Free Agency, the New England Patriots were paid a visit by free agent defensive end Luis Castillo on Saturday, according to reports.

Castillo spent the first seven years of his NFL career with the San Diego Chargers after being taken 28th overall out of Northwestern in 2005. The defensive end has 19 career sacks to his name, but played in just one game last season after suffering a broken tibia.

A versatile end, Castillo can play in both the 3-4 and 4-3. He could help the Patriots with more depth on their defensive line and would fit in nicely next to Vince Wilfork, Kyle Love and recently signed Jonathan Fanene.

The 28-year-old Castillo will continue to make visits, and has already met with the Kansas City Chiefs.
