Police Search For Hair-Pulling Robber In NH

MANCHESTER, NH (CBS) - Police are searching for an armed robber who assaulted the female clerks at two convenience stores on the same night.

Surveillance video from each location shows the man holding a gun to the women's faces and pulling them by the hair.

"He's very demanding and aggressive in how he handles the ladies. He actually grabs them by the back of the hair and shoves them physically towards the register. So he was very determined and very violent," says Lt. Maureen Tessier of the Manchester Police Department.

First he struck a 7-Eleven on Queen City Avenue. The video shows him shove the woman and grab her hair. Later he leads her into the back room where he takes money from her purse.

Just an hour later, the same man shows up at a Shell gas station across town. This time, he is even more violent, even hitting the female clerk in the head with his gun.

"In this instance it was quite obvious that he was going to get what he was looking for," Tessier says.

The clerk was taken to the hospital but wasn't seriously hurt. Both women were too shaken up to talk about the robberies.

The robber is described as a white or Hispanic man in his 20's. He is 5'5'' to 5'9" with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a New York Yankees cap that may have a gold sticker on it.

"While you can't really see his face too well in the videos. His clothing is descriptive. We're hoping someone will recognize the clothing or mannerisms of the individual and possibly provide us with a lead," Tessier said.

Anyone with information is urged to call Manchester Police.
