Around 25,000 National Grid Customers On North Shore Lose Power
BOSTON (CBS) - Around 25,000 National Grid customers on the North Shore lost power Monday morning.
The outages reached their peak at around 5:45 a.m.
That number was later reduced to 6,000 customers on Cape Ann without power.
Crews finally restored power to the majority of residents in the area after 7 a.m.
"This large number of customers out indicates that we did have initially a transmission line problem," said National Grid spokesperson Debbie Drew.
The cause of the outages is not known.
