MARION (CBS) – A woman found a missing 6-year-old autistic boy in her backyard in Marion after police sent out a reverse notification call on Sunday morning.

The boy originally went missing around 11:30 a.m. from his home on Hammmett’s Cove Drive.

Crews combed through several nearby waterfront areas but did not find the boy.

About an hour into the search, a woman who lives on Joanne Drive found the boy in her backyard and notified authorities.

Police said the child was found to be wet and cold, but otherwise OK.

He was taken to Tobey Hospital for evaluation.
