BOSTON (CBS) – Video of an apparent attack on the MBTA’s Red Line that appeared on YouTube this week has not gone unnoticed by MBTA police. The explicit video turned up on YouTube Thursday.

It shows a woman standing on the train yelling and cursing at a man. The witness who posted the video says the man had “brushed up against her dog when going to sit down“ and that the woman was unhappy about it.

Universal Hub posted the video on its site and reported that at least one concerned citizen saw the video and reached out to MBTA officials on Twitter.

T police responded that they were aware of the video and were investigating.

MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said Saturday the police spoke with the victim and that he does not want to press any charges. Police still want to identify the woman. They say it’s likely she’ll face a charge of Disorderly Conduct.

Anyone with information can contact MBTA Police at 617-222-1212.

I remember being on the Red line back in ’05 and two ‘girls’ got into a fight over one allegedly not being polite enough telling her to put out a cigarette. It started at Kendall and T police took them both off at Park when one girl showed how calm she was by threatening to stab everyone on the train. Take a wild guess which demographic box those girls would check.

And really? Saying he acted appropriately? Would that woman have said that if it was a woman just taking it while a guy beat on her?

  7. Legal Commentator says:

Why are the police saying that, if they can identify her, she could only be charged with disorderly conduct? She could also be charged with the more serious charge of assault and battery.

      1. Bob Thomas says:

She would not be charged if the guy isn’t pressing charges.; just like a domestic abuse case, if the woman doesnt want to press charges …oh wait…nevermind., The police always arrest and charge the man with at least Battery.

He showed great restraint there. I have never raised my hand to a woman but I would not have blamed him if after that first initial flurry he blasted her square in the face. Kudos to him for not even worrying about pressing charges if she is identified. He took it like a champ for sure.

One thing I will tell you if I ever do get slapped around by anyone and I see people giggling and chuckling while they are filming the tussle I hope I have another punch or two in me for them after I swiftly grab and smash their iPhones. That would piss me off harder than getting walloped.

Are dogs allowed on the trains?

    1. lizziw says:

Oh, and I meant the canine kind

  10. Miss T says:

Find this trash NOW and charge her with assault and battery!!!

  11. Frequent Rider says:

What was her frigging dog doing on the train anyway?

This embarrasses me to be a T rider… that someone would see this & think all passengers are trashy like this. I have nothing but respect for the victim, that he was and is being an adult & just moving on…

Nice job to all the commenters assuming the girl was “a hood rat”. Survey says “white suburban girl posing like a crust punk”, nice try, better luck next time.

    1. dan says:

all you have to do is look at her..she already said she was drunk on the train i feel sorry for the dog

  13. Chris says:

She wants to act like a man. I would have treated her like a man!
