BOSTON (AP) — Gov. Deval Patrick is taking some time off.

A spokesman for the governor says he plans to leave Saturday for a week of vacation in the Virgin Islands with his wife Diane and other family and friends.

Patrick is expected to return to the Bay State next Sunday.

By law, Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray is acting governor.

    Deval & his Cronies’ will be using ‘Job Growth’ as a 2nd ‘Massachusetts Miracle’ in his run for the ‘Oval Office’ in 2016!

    This is why he had a surrogate out front on the issue of scewed Massachusetts job numbers, ‘no damaging sound bytes’ that can be used against him in 2016.
