Adolfo Gets Mugged, Helps Police Catch Thieves

BOSTON (CBS) - Adolfo of 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich played a hand in catching a pair of thieves in Brighton on Friday.

Unfortunately though, he had to be their victim first.

"I was walking down the street heading home when these two guys I noticed from the corner of my eye were walking behind me really slow. I thought it was strange, because I walk really slow. If anyone walks slower than me it's a little suspicious,' he told 98.5 The Sports Hub's Gresh & Zo.

Adolfo said he had just left the Sports Hub studios when one man asked him the time and then asked to try his Beats by Dr. Dre headphones.

When Adolfo told them no, that's when they swiped them.

So what did he do?

"I chased the guys down for half a block," Adolfo explained. "I was yelling at the top of my lungs, 'That guy in the red sweatshirt stole my headphones.'"

"The guy that stole my headphones ended up in an alleyway, and I wasn't going to chase after him then."

After calling police, Adolfo rode around in a squad car as they looked for the thieves. After a few minutes, they found the one in the red sweatshirt, and Adolfo got his headphones back.

Boston police confirmed the arrest, but would not comment on the incident.

"Who thought I had it in me? I did!" Adolfo proclaimed. "I'm a crime-buster -- watch out!"

And will he continue to use the headphones on his way home?

"I bought them, what's the point of not using them?"
