Breer With Toucher & Rich: Could Welker Hold Out?

The NFL Scouting Combine is over, but Bert Breer is still in Indianapolis covering the Peyton Manning story.

Breer called to talk with Toucher & Rich about the New England Patriots placing the franchise tag on Wes Welker, what other teams franchised players, Randy Moss working out for the New Orleans Saints and what he's doing with his free time in Indy.

A video leaked online of Peyton Manning throwing the football and shows the quarterback throwing four different types of passes. How are people in the Colts organization taking the release of this video?

"I'll put it this way, I don't think they were amused by it because anybody who believes that that was some ball boy pulling a fast one on Peyton Manning probably still believes in Santa Claus."

Monday was the deadline for teams to place the franchise tag on players and the Patriots placed a tag on Wes Welker. If the two sides can't agree on a contract before the season does Breer see Welker holding out?

"I think when we get to May or June if this thing is still dragging on I could see where he would threaten to do that and I could see him sitting out the spring workouts."

The Pittsburgh Steelers didn't place a franchise tag on wide receiver Mike Wallace allowing him to become a restricted free agent. Any chance that the Pats chase after him and sign him to an offer sheet?

"I don't think they can get Welker done quick enough to go get Wallace too. The other thing you've got to remember here is that once you sign Mike Wallace, if you go out and sign him to an offer sheet remember you're going to have to front the heck out of that offer sheet to make sure that Pittsburgh won't match it."

They also discussed the New Orleans Saints and the bounty scandal, plus the reports that Randy Moss is working out for them. Could this be a story to get people off of the bounty story?
