DA: Teen Hit By Taxi On Storrow Drive Likely Jumped From Footbridge

BOSTON (CBS) – A teen was seriously injured after he possibly fell onto Storrow Drive before being hit by a taxi cab early Sunday morning.

Witnesses told police that after 1 a.m., the 18-year-old man from Sherborn appeared to have dropped from the Dartmouth Street footbridge overpass before he was hit by the car.

The Suffolk County district attorney’s office said it appears the victim jumped from the bridge and that foul play is not suspected. Though, the circumstances surrounding the possible fall are still under investigation.

The victim is listed in critical condition at Tufts Medical Center.

The cab driver involved in the accident is a 43-year-old Revere man.

If the police do not change it from fell to jumped….you will see in six months that the family will be suing the city, the contractor that built the bridge and the cab company for failing to protect their son from harm.

I hope that this young man makes it. Keeping him in my thoughts.

its a pretty unsafe bridge in all reality. I am sure he jumped/was drunk but regardless, a foot bridge that crosses a highway should have higher railings than 3 feet, which is what that bridge has. people bike, run, walk over it, one wrong move and your toast.

Why do Democrats always demand the taxpayers pay for things to prevent stupid people from doing stupid things?
