Man Arraigned For Court Outburst In Mattapan Murder Trial

BOSTON (AP) — A man accused of shouting "rat" and "snitch" at a key prosecution witness during a Boston murder trial has pleaded not guilty to witness intimidation and disrupting a court proceeding.

Forty-five-year-old Dennis Jones is accused of standing up in court Feb. 22 as Kimani Washington testified in the trial of his cousin, Edward Washington, and Dwayne Moore. The men are charged in the shootings of a toddler and three adults during a drug robbery in 2010.

On Friday, a judge set bail $20,000 bail for Jones and revoked his bail in a traffic case. Jones' lawyer said there's no evidence a specific witness was intimidated. Jones said his comments were taken out of context. He said he's a cousin of two victims in the case. Prosecutors say he told police a different story.
