Group Probing Reported UFO Near Acton-Littleton Line

ACTON (CBS) - A local UFO investigative organization wants to uncover the truth about a strange object reported in the skies near the Acton-Littleton line last year.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Laurie Kirby reports.

The driver, riding along Route 2, looked up into the sky last July and saw a strange object.

"As he was driving along, it caught his eye," said Steve Firmani, head of the New England chapter of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON).

The driver described it as a reflective, black, tube-shaped thing traveling eastbound.

"(The driver) described it as 30 feet long, 6 feet in diameter, 200 to 300 feet in the air," said Firmani. "I guess it was described as a spinning cylinder type of object."

Firmani said MUFON has been investigating UFO sightings for more than 40 years, and that they are "trained to identify things before we can call something unidentified."

He admits the object could have been nothing extraterrestrial.

"It could have been a piece of debris tumbling in the wind," said Firmani.

Or... could it be the real deal? What do you think?
