Emily Moreau, a 16-year-old junior at Chelmsford High, says she was told that three well-dressed men entered the state Transportation Building in Boston at about 2:30 a.m. Monday, went straight to the 9-by-12-inch colored pencil drawing she calls "Breakfast," took it down and walked away.
The drawing of a fried egg in a pan with a human eye where the yolk should be won a silver medal in the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Competition.
Moreau called the theft a "backhanded compliment," but says she's mostly upset.
She still has a photo of the piece.
Police are investigating.
