Meth Lab Charges Dropped Against 74-Year-Old College Professor
BOSTON (CBS) - All charges against a 74-year-old college professor previously accused of running a methamphetamine lab at her Somerville home have been dropped.
Irina Kristy was cited by Somerville Police in December, but the Middlesex County District Attorney's office decided last week not to pursue charges.
Meth lab charges are still pending against Kristy's son, Grigory Genkin, who is due back in court for a probable cause hearing on Feb. 29.
Kristy, who has taught in the city for two decades, had been placed on leave at Boston University and Suffolk University after the charges were brought against her.
Kristy will not be teaching at BU this semester. Her future plans at the school are unclear, a BU spokesperson said.
