Nicastro, a junior, was accused of sexual assault by a female student and was arrested at around 6:30 a.m. The alleged assault occurred on the BU campus.

"Once we receive any information like this, we investigate all sides of allegations to see if there has been a violation of the code of student conduct, at which point further action may be taken," said Kenneth Elmore, Dean of Students, in a statement.

Nicastro, who has three goals and six assists this season, has been suspended by the team pending the outcome of the investigation.

He is being held on $25,000 bail and will be arraigned Tuesday in Brighton District Court.

Boston University police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office are investigating.

Earlier this season, star BU hockey player Corey Trivino was thrown off the team after he was charged with sexual assault.
