Canucks Fan Defaces Lucic's Church With Vulgar Graffiti

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Bruins and Canucks have played just once this season since their memorable meeting in last year's Stanley Cup Final, so you'd think the rivalry may have cooled down a bit between the two fan bases. It clearly hasn't, though, for at least one fan in British Columbia who made it known that the Vancouver native who plays for the Bruins is no hometown hero.

Lucic's girlfriend, Brittany Carnegie, tweeted a photo of Lucic's church in Burnaby, British Columbia. The picture showed graffiti that said "[Expletive] Lucic" and "Go Canucks Go." The graffiti also included male genitalia painted next to the words.

The Vancouver Sun reports that the church is the St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church in Burnaby.

"This is DISGUSTING!" Carnegie tweeted. "Punks did this to [Milan's] beloved church! So disgusting!"

Lucic, 23, was born and raised in Vancouver, and he played his junior hockey for the Vancouver Giants, who put Lucic in the ring of honor last winter. He's been on the Bruins since 2007, and when he raised the Stanley Cup at Rogers Arena last June, the Vancouver crowd cheered.

In this year's meeting between the Bruins and Canucks, Lucic lasted just 3:54 into the game before he was given a game misconduct for leaving the bench during an altercation. The penalty was later rescinded.
