CAMP PENDLETON (AP) — The Marine Corps has released the identities of three Marines killed in a car crash near Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Camp Pendleton officials said in a statement Thursday that the three killed in Dana Point, Calif., on Tuesday were 23-year-old Sgt. Jeremiah Callahan of Chadron, Neb.; 21-year-old Cpl. Christopher Arzola of Westfield, Mass.; and 22-year-old Cpl. Jason Chleborad of Rapid City, S.D..
A fourth Marine remains hospitalized. His name was not released. Sheriff’s investigators say speed, slick roads and alcohol appeared to contribute to the 2005 Dodge Stratus going out of control on a Dana Point street early Tuesday and slamming into a tree.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the crash.
