Scholastic Releases List Of Top 100 Kids Books

Well, a new list of the top 100 greatest books for kids may include your favorite book and a few surprises.

The list was compiled by Scholastic Parent and Child Magazine, and according to Editor in Chief Nick Friedman, he hopes the list generates controversy and conversation.
"If we can get you talking about books, in any way then it's just a wonderful, great thing. That was like a driving force behind creating this list," said Friedman.
"Make Way for the Ducklings" did not make the list, and neither did "Cat in the Hat."
What was No. 1? "Charlotte's Web" by E.B. White.
"Goodnight Moon" by Margaret Wise Brown was No. 2 on the list.
