NightSide - Kade Crockford Joined Dan Rea To Discuss Street Cameras
BOSTON (CBS) - Straight out of Minority Report, areas of East Orange, New Jersey are installing streetlights that will have pre-crime tracking abilities. Equipped with surveillance cameras, when a suspect is engaged in "pre-crime activities," the lights will shine a red spotlight on the suspect. Kade Crockford, Privacy Rights Coordinator for the ACLU of Massachusetts, sits down with Dan to talk about how frightening this "Big Brother is watching you" policy is, and whether the benefits outweigh the cost.
