NH Teen Who Shot Self At School Expected To Survive

BOSTON (CBS) - A New Hampshire teen who shot himself at school last week is in critical condition but is expected to survive, police told WBZ-TV on Monday.

Hunter Mack shot himself in the face with a rifle Friday during lunch at Walpole Elementary School on Bemis Lane in Walpole, New Hampshire.

Police told WBZ-TV that students told adults that the 14-year-old was depressed and had been making threats to hurt himself.

School officials notified his parents and put safeguards in place a week before the shooting, police said.

Authorities are still investigating whether any charges are warranted in the case.
