Forty-year-old Allen Stilkey was arraigned in Uxbridge District Court on charges of manslaughter.

Stilkey was arrested Friday after his wife, 44-year-old Lisa Stilkey, was found severely injured outside their Douglas home.

Worcester District Attorney Joe Early said Monday that Lisa Stilkey jumped out of a second-floor window and tried to land on a pillow, fearing her husband, after an argument late Thursday night.

"When Mrs. Stilkey was on the phone with her son, approximately 15 minutes prior to the 911 call to the Douglas police, he heard Mr. Stilkey say 'When you get off the phone, I'm going to kill you,'" Early told reporters.

"She said that, 'If I'm dead, he did it."

"There was a struggle, a very big struggle that was going on throughout the house.  There was broken furniture, there was broken glass.  There was wine on the countertop, there was wine in the kitchen, there was wine on the wall.  She was upstairs, a pillow had gone out the window.  She went out the window and attempted to land on that pillow," Early said.

"I'm not going to connect all the dots, but it can easily lead someone to conclude at that point when she jumped out the window, was there a less restrictive means of getting out (of) the house or did she feel compelled to go out the window?"

She was taken to a hospital where she died.

Allen Stilkey's attorney said his client did not force his wife to jump.

There were no prior problems reported between the two of them.

Early said Stilkey took out a $250,000 life insurance policy two weeks before his wife's death.
