Bill Belichick To Hit Links In Pebble Beach Pro Am

BOSTON (CBS) - The saying often goes when a team's season comes to an end, they then hit the golf course.

While the Patriots did make it all the way to the Super Bowl, head coach Bill Belichick will be doing just that this weekend.

Belichick will play in the Pebble Beach Pro Am in California, beginning on Thursday, paired with golfer Ricky Barnes.

Barnes, who tied for second in the 2009 US Open, has some Patriots ties of his own. His father, Bruce, was the New England punter for two seasons from 1973-74.

Along with Barnes, Belichick will be teeing of with good friend Nick Saban, the head coach of Alabama, who won the BCS Championship game last month against LSU.

But instead of discussing "What Ifs" from Sunday's Super Bowl, the two will likely be talking about the college crop of players getting ready for next week's  scouting combine.

The Patriots have two picks in each of the first two rounds of April's NFL Draft.

Belichick and Saban's group is set to tee off around 11:22am Thursday morning.
