Chad Ochocinco Says He's Changing Last Name Back To Johnson

BOSTON (CBS) -- After the best year of his career, wide receiver Chad Johnson decided to add some flare and change his last name to Ochocinco. After the worst year of his career, he's ready to change it back.

The wide receiver tweeted this week that he'll change his name back to Chad Johnson this summer.

"Take the [Ochocinco jerseys] down, I'll be Johnson on July 4," Ochocinco tweeted at a follower this week.

TMZ also reported that the 34-year-old has been telling friends that he'll change his name back to Johnson prior to his wedding this summer to Evelyn Lozada.

Ochocinco made the legal switch in the summer of 2008, after he caught 93 passes for 1,440 yards and eight touchdowns for the Bengals. He's never come close to matching that production since then, culminating in his disappointing 2011 season with the Patriots, when he caught just 15 passes for 276 yards and one touchdown.
