Hamill Goes Unclaimed, Bruins Assign To Providence

BOSTON (CBS) - No NHL teams placed a waiver claim on the Bruins Zach Hamill, so the team assigned the forward to Providence.

Hamill has appeared in 16 games for Boston this year, registering two assists. In 20 career NHL games, the 23-year-old Hamill has four assists.

Through 25 AHL games this season, Hamill has seven goals and seven assists. Last season, Hamill spent the majority of the year in Providence and finished second on the team in scoring with 43 points (nine goals, 34 assists). He was recalled once to Boston last February, tallying one assist in three NHL games.

Hamill was drafted by the Bruins eighth overall in the 2007 NHL Draft.
