Peabody Man Dies In Rollover On Route 128

DANVERS (AP) — State police say a 30-year-old Peabody man has died in a single-car rollover on Route 128 in Danvers that also injured the passenger.

Police say the 1991 Honda Accord was traveling south at high speed at about 8 p.m. on Sunday when it struck the guard rail, veered across both lanes and struck the Jersey barriers, continued onto the ramp to Route 35, struck two more barriers and flipped on to its roof.

The driver, Reginaldo Dasilva Souza was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, 37-year-old Sidney Gomes Dasilva, was flown to a Boston hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, but police say it appears speed was a factor.
