Patriots Fans Confident At Half

INDIANAPOLIS (CBS) - The Patriots took a 10-9 lead right before the half in Super Bowl XLVI, feeding into their fans' confidence.

I bothered a few fans as Madonna was signing in the background, and they're all confident the Patriots have this one in the bag. Aaron Hernandez' early touchdown will only feed into that.

Steve from Braintree, sporting a Rob Gronkowski jersey, is here with his father and another friend. His dad has had season tickets since Bill Parcells took over back in 1993. Steve has had an eventful couple days in Indy, sitting front row for Katie Perry on Friday and then participating in an eating contest at the Butler game on Saturday.

He said he got booed because he was sporting his Gronk jersey.

I also stopped to chat with Julianna, who is from New York but is a Patriots fan. She was wearing a #87 jersey, but this one had Coates on the back of it. She only became a football fan a few years ago, and chose the Patriots. Her favorite player is Gronk, which is why she borrowed the Coates jersey from a friend.

She drove in with her boyfriend, who is from Marshfield, a 12-hour drive from New York. They'll make that same trek tomorrow.

Also stopped a Patriots fan who is here with a pair of Giants fans. When I asked how that happened, he said "they know how to pick good friends."

I called it quits when I almost knocked a ladies beer out of her hand. In my defense, she ran into me.
