Local Boxing Star Killed By MBTA Train In Haverhill

HAVERHILL (CBS) - A boxing star from Haverhill was struck and killed by an MBTA commuter train early Saturday morning.

According to MBTA police, Jeff Fraza, a one-time contestant on the show "The Contender," was struck around 1:30 a.m. by a train that was returning to Boston after its final drop-off of the night in Haverhill.

No passengers were on board the train.

Police are looking at what the 34-year-old Fraza may have been doing on the tracks.


The Eagle Tribune reports
Fraza may have been talking on his cell phone at the time he was hit.
