By Melissa Mack, WBZ-TV

Quiet, quiet, all is quiet.

That’s the forecast as we head into Super Bowl weekend and into the middle part of next week.

Check: Current Conditions | Weather Map Center | Interactive Radar

Today will be colder as highs hover in the middle and upper 30s.

Skies will be clearing early this morning allowing for a mostly sunny day.  A shortwave trough will induce partly to mostly cloudy skies tonight.

Watch Melissa’s forecast:

With clouds acting as a blanket overnight, we will maintain temperatures in the 20s overnight.

Saturday will be be a sun-filled day, but high temps will be even a couple of degrees colder as we top off in the middle 30’s.

Super Bowl Sunday will be partly sunny as an upper level trough slowly passes through the region.

A few flurries are not out of the question, especially for northern New England.  High temps will fail to reach 40F once again as thermometers will be reading in the middle 30s.

Early next week, we will return to the 40s for a couple of days.

Shhh…the peaceful weather sticks around through mid-week.

Happy FRRRiday!  Go Pats!

~Melissa :)

Does anyone at this station even look at their weather page. Tonight’s forecast is shows as SUNNY AND COLD. Really??? Gonna be something pretty special if tonight is indeed sunny. And of course we have two very different long-range forecasts posted every day. Glad to see you are right on top of things at all times.

    1. Major Dundee says:

Al Sleet reported weather like this.

    Good morning everyone!
First and foremost I need to apologize to Melissa for misspelling your name in my last blog. That was another typo. I tend to rush through and type my thoughts extemporaneously and not proof read.
Anyway, I want to tell you Melissa that you are becoming more accurate with your forecasts everyday! As a former Clevelander I (early childhood) I know firsthand that New England weather forecasting can be even more challenging than forecasting NE Ohio. Experience in NE has only furthered your already excellent forecasting skills. I truly love watching your forecasts each morning.
As for the forecast. The storm Sunday night into Monday will miss us ..We will only see some cloudiness to our south. But I am sticking to my guns and predicting a Nor’easter here between Feb 11th and 17th! You heard it here and I own that prediction. So if I am proven wrong? Have at me! But, somehow I feel I will NOT be wrong. The models will come around in the days ahead.
Have a great day everyone! And you to Melissa.

Hi Melissa Thanks for the blog today. Will you be running the boston marathon? if yes good luck and if no Why not? I think we are going to start getting snow from mid month right into march.

    1. wxmack says:

No, I’m not running the marathon. However, I am still running for enjoyment. We are bound to get some snow, but it looks very quiet throughout the entire 7-day forecast. ~Melissa

  4. Stanley says:

Hey BaileyMan STOP making predictions you MOREON!
Do you have a crystal Ball??
I really can’t understand why you and the rest of the snow lovers can’t face reallity. NO MAJOR SNOWSTORM THIS YEAR!
In fact I’ll prove you wrong.
If we indeed get this so called major noreaster between the 11th and 17th I’ll bet the house by time it gets here the pattern will have warmed up and it will be RAIN!!

    1. SClarke says:

I am still on my first cup of coffee, and already have my laugh quota for the day. Seeing “moron” misspelled was a hoot – thanks!

      1. smac says:

I have to say that that “moreon” definitely added some enjoyment to my day too. People in glass houses should not throw stones, as they say.

    2. ash77 says:

WOW. Thanks for the laugh. You should post on monday mornings.

  5. smm77 says:

I just wanted to say you look absolutely stunning today! You could be the spokeswoman for Nation Wear Red Day! Can I take you on a date?

    1. wxmack says:

Thanks for the compliment! Flattering…~Melissa :)

  6. Dillan says:

You people really need to just calm down and chill.
Ive been reading this blog for sometime now as a hobby my real job is a police officer.
I have seen many rude and insane people while being on duty.
I guess I can’t even come here for solace.
    I give up!

    1. keith says:

Thank you Dillan for your excellent point. I have also been reading this blog for the past five years. Over the years I have seen an influx of people join this blog who just wanna crap on others and rip apart their assessments of upcoming weather. I operate heavy equipment during the winter for MassHighway and am very reliant on snow so it is kinda unfortunate we haven’t gotten any significant precipitation. It would be nice to see the educated people like Topkatt88, Baileyman,Hadi and JimmyJames back they all have knowledge and passion for weather. Maybe some of these new nitpicking jerks who have joined this blog should find another place to bully other bloggers. It is nice that the meteorologists on this website have taken the time to interact with their viewers and I believe they deserve alot of credit. It is clear that predicting weather here in New England is never easy so give them a break. Life’s short no sense in spending your time arguing over someones spelling maybe winter needs to be over, BA Humbug!

  7. SClarke says:

You are killing me. Now you misspelled “misspelled’.

  8. SClarke says:

    You misspelled “A W E S O M E”.

  9. Henry says:

    Sorry New England fans…

    Giants 27 Saps 20

    Where’s winter??

  10. Nick says:

    Hi Everyone!
For all us snow lovers out there Accuweather is now predicting that the rest of February will be basically balmy with temps in the 30’s and 40’s in the northeast and little hope (if any) for snow.
I’m very dissapointed, I really look forward to winter and to have no snow is a bummer.
I truly believe we are not going to see a major snowstorm the rest of winter.

  11. ash77 says:

This winter has seen a lack of flakes, except when I come on this blog. Meaning those who cut down others. Anonymous tough guys/girls. Some storms would be nice because many seem quite bored and have a lot of free time on their hands. Melissa keep up the great work.

  12. man-o-wx says:

is this the spell chek blog. Nick misspelled disappointed

  13. Kathy says:

You people are a bunch of losers!!

I hope the rest of the winter is warm and temps in the 40’s and 50’s with rain!!

    1. brianm32 says:

      takes one to know one

  14. Dennis Talavera says:

Happy National Weatherperson’s Day to you Melissa Mack and to all the men and women that make possible that we can enjoy of the weather service. Thank you!

  15. Shoficyank says:

Thanks! For these easy steps. I did it and I see the reply botutns under each comment. I have one problem and don’t know if there is a solution. When I reply to a comment it takes me to another screen with all the comments on it. And if I want to continue replying i have to go back to original screen and so on. Is there any way to reply underneath each comment in one page like in disqus. Like if you are chatting???Thanks
