Kraft Sends Gillette Stadium Employees To Super Bowl
FOXBORO (CBS) - Hundreds of workers at Gillette Stadium got a big surprise. Their boss, Patriots owner Robert Kraft, is flying them to the Super Bowl. "We're very excited about this. I never expected to be brought down this time," says Peg Myers, Education coordinator of the Hall at Patriots Place.
The offer is being extended to all full-time employees who've been at Gillette for more than a year. Pro Shop manager Mike Perriello says he'll be working until the last minute dealing with the rush of customers buying up souvenirs. "I think they'll do just fine. I think it'll be a pretty neat game to watch, pretty special game."
Brian Homsi, who's the Marketing Director of Brand Management, plans to wear a pin with the late Myra Kraft's initials. It's a tribute to the woman who is said to have inspired the season. "I think it's amazing. I think everyone from the administration down to the players, really rallied behind that," says Homsi.
It will be a quick trip. They board a chartered flight Sunday morning and arrive just in time for pre-game festivities. Then they go to the game and the after-parties. They don't have hotel rooms, because they don't plan to sleep until the flight home Monday morning.
