Ochocinco Not Concerned With Super Bowl Role

INDIANAPOLIS (CBS) - Anyone who was expecting Chad Ochocinco to have a highly productive season would certainly look at the past few months as a disappointment, but the Patriots receiver sees it differently.

"I really wasn't too much concerned about the role," Ochocinco told reporters at Tuesday's media day. "They put me in this situation, [told me] 'This is what you're gonna do,' I keep my mouth shut and do what I'm told."

Ochocinco stressed that if he had tried to call the shots, he would be watching Sunday's Super Bowl from home.

When it comes to his playing time in that Super Bowl, the 34-year-old said he's not worried.

"I'm gonna have fun come Sunday. That's it," Ochocinco said. "I hope just to have fun. That's it. That's what I've always wanted. That's what I've always done, is have fun. That's about it."

The receiver said being in the Super Bowl hadn't really sunk in completely, but he did say he's happy with how this year has gone.

"The experience has been great. The winning experience is always great, whether you have a big role, small role, no role at all. That's awesome," he said. "What I've had this year is something I can grow accustomed to.

"You come in with expectations to be successful," he added. "The goal in the back of your mind, regardless of where you are, is to get to the big dance."
