Business Headlines: Former Patriot's New Adventure; Cheaper Natural Gas

BOSTON (CBS) - There's life after the NFL for former Patriots linebacker Matt Chatham.

His idea for a new fast-food crepe business won the 2011 Babson Business Plan Competition and last month, he opened the first SkyCrepers location in the Emerald Square Mall in North Attleboro.

Chatham enrolled at the Harvard Business School for a week as part of the NFL Business and Management Entrepreneurial Program.

It's a cool setup that introduces former players to the possibility of starting their own business.

But Chatham decided that a week of school wasn't enough and enrolled in Babson full-time.

RATE CUTS

Natural gas customers could save big this year.

NStar says natural gas customers could see as much as a 16-percent drop this winter.

If NStar's rate cut is approved by the state, customers would save as much as $15 a month - $30 less than last winter.

National Grid has filed a similar proposal with the state's Department of Public Utilities.

GAS PRICES UP

But gasoline prices continue to rise, for the fifth week in a row.

According to AAA Southern New England, the average price for a gallon of regular is up two cents more than last week to $3.42.

That's up 18 cents from a month ago.

Crude oil prices have been skyrocketing on fears of global unrest in oil-rich Iran and Nigeria.
