Spring-like Week...

Just two days after our first solid snowfall of the Winter season, temps have warmed enough for rain and they won't stop there.  Another low pressure center will swirl to our west tonight sending a warm airmass surging into New England overnight tonight.  It is already nearly 50 in parts of SE Mass but will take longer to erode the weekend cold well inland.  In fact, some of the river valleys through interior New England are hanging on to subfreezing air making for some slippery / icy spots through the Connecticut and Merrimack River Valleys and I'm sure the Contoocook in New Hamphire is icy to name a few.  Warm air will surge in after the warmfrontal passage and the temps could touch 50 by morning!  The coldfront will work through by morning and temps will briefly climb to the lower 50s before falling in the aftenroon back to the 40s as the sun comes out.

The middle of the week looks very quiet under NW flow, we'll see lots of sunshine and above normal temps.  Our only storm system for the workweek will pass through Thursday night and exit by Friday morning.  Despite the milder air this week, the timing, at night, may help manufacture a wintry mix across the area.

Over the weekend, we will see a cooldown as NW winds take over...near 40 on Saturday then a more potent coldfront will pass on Sunday with snow showers and 20s/30s for the end of the weekend and early next week.  But no large storms are in sight!
