Gronkowski In Boot, But Expected To Be Fine For Super Bowl

FOXBORO (CBS) - Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski offered little by way of an update to his injured ankle after New England's 23-20 win over the Ravens in the AFC Championship.

"It's good," he said when asked what happened to his left ankle late in the third quarter.

When asked what happened on the play, and then what was going through his mind as he limped off the field, he gave the same answer.

"Nothing," he said with a chuckle to both questions.

A source tells WBZ-TV's Dan Roche that Gronkowski will be "fine" for Super Bowl XLVI in two weeks. He was seen wearing a walking boot, but that is just a precautionary move.

The Pats tight end limped off the field and walked to the locker room, where the ankle was re-taped. Gronkowski returned for the end of the Patriots' touchdown drive in the fourth quarter and finished the day with five catches for a team-high 87 yards.

When asked if he was worried he would have to sit out the final quarter, the 22-year-old was again his jovial self.

"No, I'm never worried," he said with a laugh.
