LAWRENCE (CBS) – A Lawrence man has been arrested for pistol-whipping a store clerk on New Year’s Eve.
Jesse Pena, 20, was arrested Sunday morning during a police raid of a third floor apartment on Garden Street in Lawrence.
Police recovered a handgun inside a toy box in the home.
On Dec. 31, Pena allegedly entered the store on Essex Street looking for a man named “Anthony.” He then struck the clerk with a handgun, police said.
Pena faces several charges, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He’s expected to be arraigned in Lawrence District Court.
