44-Degree Water & Snow Is No Deterrent In Quincy

QUINCY (CBS) - Despite the snow and freezing temperatures, a handful of daredevils hopped into the bay off Wollaston Beach on Saturday.

People who showed up for Quincy Beaches and Coastal Commission's 6th Annual John Hancock Birthday Polar Plunge were raising money for hungry families.

They say they raised about $4,000 from Saturday's event. The money will go to Interfaith Social Services.

Water temperature in the bay is about 44 degrees.
