Friendly’s Giving Away Free Fribbles

BOSTON (CBS) – Friendly’s is trying to patch up its relationship with its customers by offering free Fribbles Saturday.

The signature shakes will be available from noon to 5 p.m. at all Friendly’s locations.

Find: Friendly’s Near You

Finding one isn’t as easy as it used to be.

Friendly’s shut down dozens of its restaurants in the last year as it went into bankruptcy.

The company just came out of Chapter 11.

In a statement, Friendly’s said it’s celebrating with the giveaway as a way to  “help the company reconnect” with its families and friends.

How about lowering your prices that are way too high to start with.

  2. Frank Davis says:

MMM!! I’m going to get me a Fribble tomorrow……oh wait. Most of the store I can run into are closed. Nice try Friendly’s.

I would have gone to the Friendly’s Express in Mansfield but they closed that down a few weeks ago for no reason.

  4. Emmit066 says:

Wish they hadn’t closed the Friendly’s Express in Mansfield the other week out of the blue. I liked that place because you weren’t waiting forever & a day to get waited on & get your meal.

that’s a great way to help out with your bankruptcy….give people free stuff…I wonder what genius came up with that idea.

Too bad the company already hurt their image with the firing of Jeremy… search FB for “Support Jeremy” and think twice!!!

  9. Supporter of Friendlys says:

There are always 2 sides to every story! The new owner is in the restaurant every day he is not hiding. He had offered to talk to Jeremy and his family 2 weeks ago. They decided to handle it this way. All they had to do was meet with him and the new owner would have done the right thing for Jeremy! More communication was all that was needed! The 3 Friendlys he bought would probably have closed eventually he also saved many jobs and would have saved Jeremys if given the chance. It is very sad, it is always easier for people to express anger and go public with anything they feel was done unjust to them but the public never hears the other side! Friendlys is a good company but is being effected by the bad economy! It is sad for all people involved! This has gone crazy publicly please do not judge someone you do not know! Always 2 sides!

  10. Cate says:

    Dear “Supporter”-

Yes, the economy is affecting many businesses these days but that is the least of Friendlys problems. There food is sub par and there service is generally awful. And they aren’t exactly inexpensive like you would think from the quality of the food. So why would anyone really want to go there? I don’t even get what the big selling point is!

  11. Bruce Fontaine says:

Mail me one. The store up the street closed!
