Patriots To Play In London In 2012

BOSTON (CBS) -  It looks like the New England Patriots will be heading back across the pond in 2012.

The NFL announced Friday that the Patriots will play the St. Louis Rams at Wembley Stadium in London during the 2012 season.

The game overseas will count as a home game for the Rams, so New England would still have all eight of their regular season games at Gillette.

"We're very excited to be playing in London," Patriots owner Robert Kraft said from Gillette Stadium on Friday. "For us, it's like having another home game because we have such a large fan base there."

"The response to NFL games in the U.K. among our British fans has been exceptional," said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in a release.  "We are confident that having the Rams host one game in the U.K. in each of the next three seasons will allow us to better serve the growing popularity of our sport beyond the borders of the United States."

The game will take place on October 28 1pm and will air on CBS.
