One, After Another, After Another...

It's going to be a 'slow-go' morning as anywhere from a coating to a few inches of snow fell from the first batch of precipitation that began around 10pm last night.

A second, lighter batch of precipitation has been moving through since 3 a.m.

This is going to be the culprit for a rain/snow/icy mix from Boston to points north and west as well as showers for southeastern Massachusetts.

This may add an additional 1" of snow before exiting around 7 a.m.

Watch Melissa's Forecast:

Then, we can expect a dry slot to move in from late-morning through late-afternoon.

As a cold front nears, rain will return as temperatures will be mild enough to support liquid precipitation.

Northern New England and higher elevations may see some snowfalkes mix in this afternoon as well.

High temperatures will be near 40F across southern NH to the middle 40s in Boston to near 50F along the Cape/Islands. Southwesterly winds will increase this evening.

The showers will end early tonight, and mostly cloudy skies will prevail.

Winds will be gusty from the southwest. A cold front will pass to our east between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.  In its wake, the gusty winds will switch to the west-northwest.

Cold air advection will be occurring on Wednesday.

Hence, temperatures will reach their maximum value around midday before dropping into the 20s by the evening.

The sky will be mostly sunny and the wind will remain breezy throughout the day from the west-northwest.

A sunny start to our Thursday will lend to increasing clouds and a few snow showers developing in the evening.

These snow showers will continue through early Friday morning. This 'Clipper' has the potential of producing 1-2" of snow, which would make for a slow morning commute on Friday.

Friday will then turn into a bright, sunshiny day.  High temps will be in the lower and middle 30s.

Saturday is a 'question mark'.

The EURO is keeping the 'heart of the storm' to our south with snow showers clipping Southeastern Massachusetts, the Cape, and the Islands.

On the flip side, the latest GFSx (6z run) is showing a potential for a nor'easter affecting our region.

This model is showing the storm travelling slightly northward when compared to the previous one (00z run).

We will be watching this closely.  At the very least, it does appear that that southeastern Massachusetts will receive some snow showers from this system.

Melissa :)
