Report: Red Sox Sign SP Padilla To Minor League Deal

BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Red Sox have completed a minor league deal with right handed pitcher Vicente Padilla, according to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.

Heyman is reporting the deal includes a minor league invite, and Padilla has a very good shot at winning a spot in the Boston rotation.

Daniel Bard, Alfredo Aceves, Aaron Cook and Padilla are likely to contend for the final two spots in the Red Sox rotation behind Jon Lester, Josh Beckett and Clay Buchholz.
