Warren To Senator Brown: Let's Block Attack Ads

BOSTON (AP) — Democrat Elizabeth Warren says she's ready to forge what she's calling an "enforceable agreement" with GOP U.S. Sen. Scott Brown to block political attack ads by independent groups.

Warren is responding to a letter Brown sent her earlier Friday urging her to join him in calling on outside groups to stop political attack ads.

Warren said the campaigns should also come up with an agreement that would cover television, radio and online advertisements from outside groups and third parties.

She said the agreement should include consequences for the campaign that fails to honor it.

Third-party groups have already spent millions on advertisements targeting Brown and Warren.

Warren's letter didn't say how the campaigns could block ads by independent groups.
