Savard Donating Bruins Suite To Children's Hospital Patients

BOSTON (CBS) – Marc Savard will be back in Boston on Thursday, and the injured Bruins center is excited to return.

He won't be hitting the ice, but his impact will go much deeper in the Boston area.

Savard is donating a TD Garden luxury suite to pediatric patients at Children's Hospital Boston. He was scheduled to announce the donation at a news conference Thursday at the Garden, but that has been postponed with Savard stuck in Canada due to inclement weather.

Savard purchased the suite for every Bruins home game for the remainder of the 2011-12 season through the completion of the 2013-14 season with the focus on children suffering from the effects of head trauma from both a medical and psychological standpoint.

The suite will be complete with healthy food and goodie bags for each guest, as well as a visit from the Bruins mascot, Blades and the Bruins Ice Girls.
